Default how do i clean the engine valley(i think thats what its called)

taking apart my engine. i tried to avoid any crap falling into the valley when taking off the lower intake. of course, crap fell into the valley.
you can see the crap in the pics below (and you can see where some of it came from). i didnt know enough to power wash the critical areas prior to starting taking this thing apart. i didnt realize until i was past the point (imo) of putting it back together and washing it.
so, again, whats my game plan to get all these bits of junk out of my engine valley or do i even care? i believe i should care for sure.

you may also notice some coolant in one of the pics. looks fresh. i did drain the block of coolant before i took the lower intake off. i dont know if a few drops dripping down is natural, or if that coolant has been in there for a long time (i did have a blown head gasket at some point, and may still have one now)
im going to suspect that that coolant is fresh from dripping down when i took off the intake because i would think if it was there the whole time, it would be less noticeable

the second pic is not so much to show you the bits, but more to show you where some of it came from

The coolant is probably from the blown gaskets. For cleaning, I'd just spray it down with Simple Green, scrub it, then use a bunch of shop towels to mop it out.

Yeah , some sort of liquid cleaner, rags, toothbrush and a razor blade to get off the old gasket's/gunk. The excess coolant is probably just from removing your intake.

The coolant is from you removing your lower intake. It is normal for that to happen. Draining the coolant before will not drain every drop...just most...as for the rest get a shop vac and suck it out....what ever calls into the holes will go into the oil pan. Before you put the lower back on just dump a fresh qt of oil in the engine to flush the pan of debris...

A small 5 gal shop vac is very cheap and a handy piece of hardware to have around.
