Unhappy new here. need some help

Edit: already posted in the 4 cylinder section but no dice..maybe more people would look here....Hey Guys names Sabastian and I'm new here and to mustangs...I just got an 85 notch-back. And I'm having a few problems. She's a N/A 2.3 CARBURETED and if I start her up she idles at about 1200. Then drops to about 1000-800.now, if I drive her for a little while(5-15 minutes) the idle drops to about 400-500 and idles rough like she's missing. But anything above idle and she's perfect...also...after I've driven her for that amount of time...she doesn't want to turn back on...cranks and cranks to no avail...she has VERY strong bright spark from the coil and to the plugs. In order to get her running I have to push the pedal to the floor and she stumbles and stumbles until turning in then clears up again..and even at that it takes a few tries before she starts...please help a newbie =). Also I'm very new to carburetor s. any insight is very very appreciated.

Check for vac leaks, and for missing check if the plug wires arching, also somthin could be goofin up in the carb, like accelerator pump diaphram could be bad

I'm pretty sure there's vac leaks the air cleaner is smaller than the bottom pan piece and the top cover is just as small...also there's a lot of hoses that aren't there and I dont know what would go where...I don't know anything about carburetors...or these motors....what's all the stuff that looks like emissions stuff just about the exhaust manifold?? Also on the exhaust manifold there's a pipe looking piece covered with aluminum tape sticking up..looks like a wastegate flange ...I'm so lost

Hi, welcome to MF. Try finding a Ford shop maual for your year car.It will show you where the vaccum lines are missing. and it also show how to diagnosis and test your carb issues.

ok well ive gotten the idle under control..theres two idle screws on the carb ones for the choke and the others for the idle when its warmed up...well i didnt mess with the one for the choke since it idles fine when cold..WELL the other one was screwed all the way out not touching anything...i screwed it in until its just barely touching the metal part and she idles at around700-800 which is perfect for me =)...and the hard starting has settled a bit since ive been driving her more and more..hopefully she keeps progressing thanks for the hospitality
