Default Fuel Consumption/Spe

I'm new to this forum thing and i just got a 1999 5spd GT mustang so i thought it would be good to ask some questions and everyone seems really cool around here. ! question i had was how can i improve the gas milage on my car without spending a lot of money. I heard get fuel injector cleaner, change the sparkplugs to platinum sparkplugs, and get an air intake. Any suggestions please let me know. Also what are the cheapest things i can do to gain the most speed. I heard that i should change my gears to 3:73 and that would make a big difference but maybe there are many other things aswell. Last thing, i just got this car 1 month ago and i'm not sure if ths is just in my head or what but my car seems slow to me now. Has that happened to anyone else that once they have had their car for a month or so it starts seeming slower. anyways please get back to me with any helpful tips on maintanance or anything you can let me know. i really love the car and i apprecaite ur advice and asnwers to my qestions.

My gas seems to waist extremly quickly, sometimes i only get a little over 100 miles to the tank. I heard that 91 octane gas burns slower than 89 which it what i use. Does anyone know if thats true? Also for the people that have 5spd mustangs, when do u switch gears. I started switching at 2500. 1 more thing that i think could be waisting my gas faster. I sometimes push the pedal all the way because the car is new to me so i can't help it. do you think thats why the gas waists faster or is there something that might be wrong because i am not getting anywhere near the milage ai should be

only getting 100 to tank thats terible you should take it on a rode trip . fill up get on interstate drive 70/75 mph steady till you had to fill up again figure up m.p.g. may be driving stabing the gas to much.in the city. rode trips are fun!

If you that worried you should have got that new hybread honda. Lol just messing with you. You can start by gettin a cat-back exhaust system, some under drive pullies, and a K&n cone type air filter. They are the basics.

Default RE: Fuel Consumption/Spe

How many miles are on the car?
Cats are supposed to be good for 50-100K miles.
Different ways to tell, but basically, if it doesn't like to wind out, they could be clogged.
