Default Oh boy...just 1000miles, 2013 GT oil leaks!!

Just at 1000 miles, my 2013 GT started oil leak. Oil leaks from where propeller shaft connects to differential gear box. I noticed oil marks on garage floor...oh boy..

Anybody has or had the same problem at this very early stage? Just 1000 miles, give me a break! I never tortured during break in period.

I am going to take to dealershipe for repair!

Drive shaft.

Take it back to the dealer, it will be covered under warranty.

Thanks guys for replies and appologize for confusing. It is a drive shaft. It would be from pinion seal.

Is leaking oil from differential box? Hope enough oil is left so that no damage on the parts. I will tow to dealership, not drive up. Again, thanks!

Refill the differential with the correct type oil and drive it to the dealer. You can check the level via the diff refill whole. The fluid should be up to bottom of the fill whole. Just put in fluid until it starts to come out then put the fill plug back. Unless the oil is gushing out, you should be fine driving it to the dealer after refilling.

Just curious what did the dealer say? Are they going to repair?

If the leak is from the differential case, there is a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) out from Ford that covers this. The TSB number is 12-8-15 and covers leaks from the differential vent cap. I noticed some oil coming from mine while I was installing the Shelby GT500 axlebacks. Took it to Ford the next day and they fixed it at no charge. I believe this applies to 2011 and newer Mustangs. Good luck!

Sorry for belated reply. I was out of town for long and finally took a car in recently. On assembly line they just put too much oil and that made oil leak out of pinion seal due to higher pressure. That's what a dealer said. Dealer replaced a seal and adjusted oil level now it is good.
