I have an 03 Mustang GT 8 cyl Convertible, it shut down as I was exiting freeway. Thought I fried the engine at first smoke was coming from the engine compartment etc. When I took a look at it a few days later i noticed there was oil still, looked normal not milky white but no coolant. And the car started up. I then went to look at the thermostat housing and saw where water may have leaked out from the lower part where it sits on top of the manifold. I filled it with water to confirm there was a leak and there was water pouring out of the bottom of the thermostat housing onto the top of the engine. I'm pretty sure i cracked the intake manifold as well so I had finally had the car towed to the mechanic this morning. Car still starts up by the way. But this morning I noticed white smoke coming out from the tailpipe and he said I may have blown the head gasket. What are my chances that the white smoke is because I may just need to replace the thermostat housing/thermostat and intake manifold only or am i screwed.

I don't think you blew a head gasket or the oil would have had coolant in it.........
