Default Can the P2135 DTC cause my car to die?

So basically I've been throwing this code too much lately. I had it happen one year ago, cleaned my throttle body and it didn't happen for another year. It happened four months ago and I cleaned the tb again and it was fine for two months. Then again I threw the P2135 and the car started dying at stop lights when I had the music loud. (But only AFTER the wrench light came on.) I had my alternator rebuilt and cleaned the TB again... And again it was fine for two months. Now the same exact thing keeps happening. I don't know if I need to buy an alternator or if I need to buy a new throttle position new sensor. Would the throttle position sensor cause my car to die like that, or would that only be an alternator issue? By the way - P2135 = "Throttle Pedal Position Sensor Switch AB Voltage Correlation". Next if I need an alternator where's the cheapest place to score the best option for an alternator? I'm guessing if that's the issue then I will need a better than stock option because of all my electronics. Also I've been searching all over - does anyone know how many amps the stock alternator is?

I doubt the sensor is causing your motor dying problem. I wouldn’t assume that your problem is the alternator. Issues like that can be so many different things. I would start with the basics by cleaning your battery terminals & posts with a wire brush. Then verify that the battery has between 12.4 & 12.8 volts with the car off. If not, your battery needs to be recharged or replaced. A weak battery can cause your problem. Then verify that the battery is 1 to 3 volts higher with the motor running. If not, then the alternator is weak and needs a rebuild or be replaced. If it is, then your dying problem is probably your aftermarket electronics drawing too much power for your alternator.

I don’t know what the stock alternator puts out on your ride. Different alternators are installed at the factory based on the options that were installed on the car. You can contact your local dealers parts department, give them your VIN # and they can tell you if you ask nicely. Good luck...
