Life Expectancy of 2004 Mustang GT
Hello.
New to this forum.
I have a 2004 Mustang GT Automatic (260HP) that just hit 130,000 miles. I have given it every maintenance routine that it has required and religiously chnaged the oil at a Ford location every 5,000 miles.
Just curious if anyone can point me to statistics on the number of miles I could expect to get out of this vehicle if I continue to take care of it as I have been?
I mean, are most people getting closer to 200K on this vehicle before it dies, or would I be lucky to get up to 150k\175k?
Just curious what people are seeing.
The reason I am at 130k+ already is because it gets driven at least 80 miles a day.
Part of me wants to hold on to the vehicle until it has a major expensive issue, the other part of me wants to trade it in on a new vehicle but of course, I'm not looking forward to having a monthly car payment again either.
Just hoping to get some input. thanks

Not sure what this means about the crank though. Does this configuration shorten the lifespan in some way? Just curious. thanks

Just read your question about life expectancy. This may be a fluke but I have had 4 stangs. The best one so far was my 1989 5.0 LX Convertible. I still have her, she's still purring like a kitten. OVER 380,000 provable miles on factory engine. All I have EVER done is tune-ups, OIL changes every 6000 mi., washed the motor & under carriage. Of course I put new tires, alignments, etc. But not a darn thing to the engine, tranny, or rear end. Don't drive her much anymore but I believe that years 302 city was one of Ford's finest.
