New to the site and having issues with my 96 mustang GT. I was having issues starting it when the weather got cold and in the morning before work. Now it will not start, when I turn the key to start it will take gas and rev. But once my foot is off the gas it dies. If I don't give it gas it kicks over like its going to start then dies and won't idle...

Any ideas on what to expect when I take it to the shop this week would be awesome. Or any ideas on how to fix if its something little. I'm not very mechanic smart...

Any help is greatly appreciated.

So it starts, but won't stay running without you giving it some throttle?

Dunno what my 2nd guess is, but my 1st guess is vacuum leak.

So it does at idle. That would suggest a bad/dirty/stuck Idle Air Control Valve.

Could be a number of things, idle air control, throttle position sensor, vacuum leak.

Nothing super common comes to mind, issues like this are tough to diagnose through the forums.
