Default lurches with clutch in above 2000 rpm

i just bought a 2003 mustang V6 5 spd. yesterday it started having shifting issues. i can start the car, push the clutch in, shift to 1st gear the rev the engine and at around 2800 rpm the car will lurch forward a little and will not shift unless i force it. i have adjusted the cable and all that did was slightly raise the rpm in which it happens. same while driving it. i can shut the engine off and restart it and all is well until i rev it again. any help is appreciated. thanks

So with the car stationary, clutch in, lever in first gear, you rev it up and the car moves?

yes BUT ONLY above 2200-2500 rpm. then it becomes hard to shift. its is free until it hits that certain rpm range then it acts like i let out on the clutch a little

Your clutch is not disengaging fully. You may have a bad thow out bearing , or your clutch cable is either not fully adjusted or it is stretched out and needs replaced.
You need to take some more slack out of the cable if you can.
At what point on the pedal do you feel the tension on the clutch start to get stiffer, it should start to disengage at about half way and by the time you get close to the floor should be full disengaged.

there are no noises at all. no grinding or anything. the cable is tight. i have adjusted it to where it has tension as soon as i touch it. it releases way up at the top. it dont slip either.

A new cable will the the cheapest, easiest place to go first, anything else is going to require dropping the transmission.

How does the quadrant look?

Clutch adjustment'
