Is Everyone's Fuel Pump This Loud? Accessory Power Alone - 2013 Mustang Boss 302

Hey all,

Is everyone's fuel pump this loud? Accessory power alone - 2013 Mustang Boss 302

We had a new rear view mirror with LCD backup camera installed today and now there is a loud electric pump noise when you turn the accessory power on before you even start the car.

If it's not supposed to be this loud, did the installers tap into the wrong power lines or something?

I'm thinking the noise was always there but simply went unnoticed until today. (since we rarely had the door open when starting the car, and rarely turned the key to accessory only, non-start position)

Anyone Anyone? Thanks! (need to know what to troubleshoot tomorrow exactly if anything)

I wasn't able to hear the audio/video. It says an error has occured.

anyways, I have a 99 mustang gt and I hardly hear the pump at all.

Here is the raw file via drop box.

Maybe the Boss 302 uses a different pump? Are you listening with the door open as you turn the key from off to accessory only?

Didn't sound very loud to me. You could barely even hear it until you stuck the camera right against it. If you're asking if it's normal for your fuel pump to be audible, then yes. It's just the pump priming.

Thanks guys,

I just drove it to Serramonte Ford and the service guy says it's totally normal.

I think it was just something that went unnoticed until now. (Perfect storm brain game)
