A couple days ago my a/c stopped blowing cold air. I've seen posts about buying some kind of can at the local autozone, and also posts about getting a tech to take a look at a possible condensor problem. I'm of course out of warranty now. Has anyone else delt with this on the S197 or have a recommendation?

If you need to add Freon to a system, it has a leak. Adding Freon to a leaking system is a Band-Aid fix that won't last long.

Best thing to do is just take it to a shop and have them do a $60 diagnostic on it. If you are mechanically inclined then after they tell you what is wrong, you can fix it yourself or have the shop fix it for you.

The alternative is to buy a set of A/C Manifold gauges ($100+) and learn how to use them. You'll still need a vacuum pump though (another $100+) to recharge your system properly after you open it up to fix whatever is wrong with it.

recharge it with Freon and see if that fixes the issue. If it doesn't, then go get it checked out.

It seemed to work better yesterday, not at 100% but maybe 85%. I'll keep an eye on it. thanks for the advice.
