sell 07 for classic?
If this is in the wrong section I apologize. I have a 2007 v6 mustang and 1997 ford f250. I use the mustang as a daily driver because the truck is a 460 motor gas hog. I use the truck in incliment weather or for camping or hunting. I was thinking of selling my v6 07 mustang for a classic mustang as a daily driver would that be wise seeing as the car is 50 years old I want to spend less than 10k on a classic one I think I could get a decent one for that. What do you think? would any of you trade a newer mustang for an older one?

As a daily driver, you would want the brakes up graded to front disc and dual master cylinder bowls. Fuel injection would be a plus unless you know your way around classic fuel systems and carbs. Dependability can be built into the car, but it might be difficult to get it under $10,000. There are many who have done it and do now....I did for a good amount of time.... How well it works for you may also depend on traffic in your area. It is sometime difficult to get the older cars to cool properly without A/C, let alone with it....I have had both. It usually takes weekly tinkering to keep things just right so if that is not an issue, good. You will get stories on both sides of the question....and I have had cars on both sides too. Some were great for months on end, others seemed to need a touch every few cays to be happy.

Everything AzPete said is true. I own a /66 289 and I can tell you that while it is a great runner, it requires regular tweaking, plus a supply of unique parts and the time to play around with the car. The other consideration you should think of is that the traffic around you dosen't care about your car the way you do and would just as soon hit you rather than steer around you. And then there's the guy that REALLY likes your car and wants to look at it close up around 2am.. My advise: Buy a beater for around town and a nice classic for weekends and a trip to the soda shoppe. Mark
