Thank you everyone for the help. I didn't realize that I could reset the mpg; That it would continuously update on it's own. I filled it up and reset it as I hit the highway avg 65-70mph and it was reading at 25-28mpg then dropped lower once I began driving on base. The only thing I'm not sure about is the guage that displays the total miles for the tank. Will that begin to increase as well since I have reset the mpg or will it just remain at the 230 something mark?

theres a couple MPG screens you can use if you have that smaller TFT screen in between the guages. Its the second option cant remember the exact name for it, but it shows MPG, time on that tank, how many gallons used, and something else. hit the RIGHT arrow and it gives you the same screen so if you're going on a long trip and want to know the info from the WHOLE trip you can use one screen and still reset everything after each fill up on the other screen.
hit the DOWN arrow and it shows the graph of your MPG while you can also reset to start the calculations all over
