Default Ford hot rod cam or comp cam thumper

I have a 06 stock mustang w/ flomaster 40 series. Looking to put in a cam? Need some advise and feedback. It's a daily driver, still needs to pass emissions, looking for a nice lopey cam sound, not really looking for speed. But I don't want to have problems with starting it, idling, cold weather, or when using the a/c.
Any advise or comments would be great thanks. Stang girl!

Thankfully most of us in MD only have to pass a simple OBD test. I don't remember hearing anyone having trouble with Hot Rod cams from Ford Racing or Detroit Rockers from Brenspeed. I would prefer the Hot Rod cams personally as they're exactly what I was going to run before I traded my GT. Good luck.

I'm shopping for the same thing on my 08. After some reading - it would seem FR Hot Rod cam is a spec replace part that does not require additional springs or hardware like the ***** Thumpers. My mechanic mentioned he did a couple Hot Rod cams not too long ago and was really a simple cam job with the Ford Racing parts. This won't affect your emissions - messing with the mid-pipe and removing the CATS will usually get you dinged at the DMV.

Speaking of which, if you are going for lopey - upgrade the mid-pipe to an H-Pipe and it will really bring out the lope.
