Default ignition switch

Just bought a 95 it a bad ignition switch. replaced switch and it will not go all the way to off. I have to force it to get the key out. It will not go into accessory. I took the first switch back thinking it was in the switch but replacement switch does the same thing?

I believe the keyed switch operates a rod that goes down the column a couple inches to the actual ignition switch. May be binding. Remove the column covers and inspect it all.

Not sure if that rod system is on all Fords but several have it.

ok, took the gear out and the actuator gear is not going all the way to accessory position. I don't see what is stopping it from moving all the way. it is all hidden in the castings if the column. Could the switch itself be jammed? Also I found a wire broken by the clock spring but does no go to the clock spring that I can see?

Took my 92 apart. The wire that is broken goes to a plastic piece on the lock cylinder. what does it do, the plastic is missing from the 95?
