Steering Issue ?

Hello everyone,

I have concern about my 2015 mustang ecoboost. I have 20" wheels, when i cut steering wheel all the way to the left and move from parking position , I feel that little tapping under neath gas pedal. I called 3 different technicians from 2 ford dealers, they both assume that causes because of some sort of a rubber stopper which prevents tires to interfere with body/frame..

Is there anyone can give me an idea about that? I also heard that's a case for F-150 trucks too. Technicians told me not to worry about that but I just wanted to get your opinions.

Thanks !

Do you feel a single tap, stopping the wheel when you turn it to full lock, or do you mean that there is a repeating tapping when you hold the wheel in that position?

On older hydraulic power steering systems, holding the wheel at full lock was a big no-no. But your car has electric power steering, so I'm not sure if that applies.

The wheels might have something to do with it. Or the tires, for that matter. If they exceed the dimensions of the stock wheels/tires, that bump-stop may not be able to do its job. There's a chance that you need wheel spacers, or a different bump-stop.

It happens like 2-3 times, like short tappings.. Do you think it's something I should be concerned about and bring the service?
