if you will be going offroad, up steephills and what not, i would recomend a holley truck avenger carb. i had a edelbrok 600 on my f100 ranger with a 400m and i was haveing trouble with the fuel puddling and the carb going dry and killing the motor on steep hills (not good you lose all power everything) and i bought a 670 holley truck avenger, exceptional fuel control over rough terrain, steep angle idle, spring-loaded needles and seats, four vacuum ports, a one piece fuel bowl vent tube, vacuum secondaries, electric choke, and clear sight plugs. they make real good low end torque and flow real well up top also, they arnt cheap though i think mine was around $400 shipped

thats a damn good carb too, it can go 40 degrees incline and 30 decline, not many carbs will do that

well since you are viewing this.the problem i see with this motor, besides lack of compression.is this thing doesn't seem to burn fuel all the way. that's why i was wondering if a better intake/carb,and maybe cam will help it or hurt it without changing heads or improving on them?

have you changed the plugs and the wires, and the dist. cap and rotor? sounds like lack of spark. as for the compression heads would definatly help and as far as a cam goes get a comp cam magnum 280/280 .530 duration they are like 115 for just the cam and i think about 400 for that cam with a new lifter and rod set, oh and that cam makes awsome power

who needs a/c in a bronco, you can take the top off, ive had quite a few broncos and other ford trucks with 400m's in them and know quite a bit about them, so if you have anymore questions PM me and ill be happy to awnser them if i can
