battery drains in 4 days, no short on ampmeter
Hi all,
I have a 98 GT conv. If the car sits for 4 or 5 days the battery gets drained. It is a brand new good quality battery, and I have tried a diff one as well and it does the same thing. I thought it was the radio so I yoked it and it still died. I put it in the shop last week while I was working and they said there was no short shown on the ampmeter, It was drawing 1/4 amp, which they said was in spec.
Has anyone had this issue or have any thoughts?
Thanks AD

You have a parasitic drain on the battery. You'll need a multimeter to monitor the battery while you pull fuses one at a time till you find the circuit that's causing the draw. That will narrow it down for you. Then you dig around on those components, switches, relays, wiring, etc till you find the culprit. It's usually something simple like a cigarette lighter or glove box light. USUALLY.....lol
Good luck
