Default What do you advise for my first project?

So im going to buy a 94 or 95 mustang and i was wondering if it would be better to build up the stock engine or just pull it all out and do a crate motor?, also which would be cheaper?...or at least where should i start haha. im just getting into the scheme of things so i dont know too much, thanks.

Forget it and buy a newer one ready to drive.

Those old cars can turn into a money pit fast.

Been there done that....

I think it depends on what kind of shape the car you're buying is in. If it's a solid driver then party 'til it pukes and get some hands on experience along the way until you have to pick your poison between a rebuild and a crate, realizing of course that Gravy is right..ain't nothing cheap about the having cars as a hobby.

If the motor is solid and maintained to start with, and your looking for alittle more zip, a gear swap should always be the first mod. My opinion is to go with 3:73's with a 5 speed or 4:10 if it's an automatic. By far the best bang for the buck.
