Default Buying winter tires for my 2011 GT convertible 19” wheels

hello

I was thinking of buying 2 Blizzack tires for the my newly purchased GT. I live in the Northwest. Snow is rare and only happens a few times a year. Ice is the major concern.

Is it worth it?

Thanks

Would these be on for an entire season due to ice? I would go with a complete set of winter tires instead of only a pair. You want the extra traction for both the drive wheels and the wheels that turn/have most of the braking power.

in the Northwest there really isnt a winter season. It is more like late fall early sprint type weather. 4 winters tires would be a slight overkill. It is just those “few” days a year that is the concern.

I just purhased my 2011 GT last week at a used Ford dealership. Amazingly, they put on 4 brand new Pirelli PZERO NERO ALL SEASON Tires P245/45ZR19. I think they should be able to handle most type of weather here except those “few” days. Any recommendationfor a tire sock or snow chain to stow in case of emergency?
