How the hell do I get this oil dipstick tube out : 1996 mustang gt
1996 mustang gt - I'm replacing the head gaskets and got the pass side header off, but cannot remove the driver side header; dip stick tube is in the way. I'm leaving the exhaust manifold connected to header because those bolts are tricky to get at, but as mentioned the oil tube is woven through the ExManifold. I've been pulling and twisting at this thing with vice grips, no luck, I don't know if there is another bracket connected to the engine block or not.

No, there was a bracket connected to the cam cover on the tip of the tube I believe, but other then that I don't see another bracket... unless its really hidden. perhaps I'm not tugging on the tube hard enough, or not at the right angle?

Oh, was it on the cam cover? I don't remember. Wherever it is, you should only have the one bracket to unbolt. If you've already found it, then the only thing left holding it in would be that O-ring near the bottom. It should just pop up out of there. Here's a pic of the tube by itself:
