ANY SUGGESTIONS ON CATALYTIC CONVERTERS?
I'VE DECIDED TO PUT CATALYTIC CONVERTERS ON MY 5.0 WHIPPLE SUPERCHARGED GT. IT HAS STAINLESS WORKS LONG TUBES, AN OFF ROAD X PIPE, AND THE BORLA TOURING AXLE BACK EXHAUST. I WANT TO QUIET IT DOWN AND WAS TOLD CONVERTERS ARE THE NEXT STEP. I DON'T WANT TO SACRIFICE POWER THOUGH. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON A BRAND? I'VE LOOKED AT MAGNAFLOW AND THE STAINLESS WORKS BOTH BUT WOULD LIKE OPINIONS. THANKS.

ANY SUGGESTIONS ON CATALYTIC CONVERTERS?
ricky914, my crew chief said to give SLP Performance Parts a look. They sell a "High-Flow Catalytic Converter." BUT, they are pushing their own exhaust systems and ,claim, these Cats can only work on the exhaust systems they describe. Check them out anyway, us racers have a way of "making things work."

You'll have to find something that will bolt up to the LT's you have, which may limit your choices. What's wrong with the Stainless Works catted X pipe ?

ANY SUGGESTIONS ON CATALYTIC CONVERTERS?
ricky 914, 1Alibi 2 makes a great suggestion, but this information may affect your decision. To realize the full power potential that this Long Tube Header and Catted Shorty X-Pipe combo kit has to offer, AmericanMuscle highly recommends a Bama custom tune with a Mustang Handheld Tuner to reprogram the vehicle's computer (ECU) for proper operation. You may also have to do this with just installing the cats.
Application. This Stainless Works Long Tube Header and Catted X-Pipe combo kit is specifically designed to fit the 2011 to 2014 GT Mustangs equipped with the 32-valve DOHC coyote 5.0L V8 engine. You also mentioned you wanted to "quiet it down." I would consult with someone who has this system and hear what it will sound like.
I personally don't take much heed in warnings that affect the maximum performance of my vehicle. You decide what your priority is and go from there. Keep us posted.

You already have what would technically be referred to as a "**** ton" of power. Or as our friends in the Great White North would call it, a metric **** ton. Adding a couple of high flow cats will reduce power by a slight amount but nothing you'll notice or miss, we're talking about single digit number changes here. If anything, you may notice a slight increase in low end torque and throttle response due to added backpressure. The benefits of cat deletes are more noticeable for us bolt on guys with older cars like mine that don't make much power to begin with.
Get a set of any decent name brand - Magnaflow, SLP, whatever, as long as the inlet/outlet size is the same diameter as your midpipe (probably 2.5") and have a local exhaust shop cut and weld them in. This isn't that complicated.

Z28KLR, couldn't have said it better myself. Reminds me of a few years back when I installed flowmaster 50 series in the dual exhaust on my, dare I say, 327 powered S10. Mellowed it out perfectly and it was a clean installation.
