Towncar 4.6 trans swap to manual 5 speed
#2
I'm not familiar with the swap, but since the Town Car was never made available with a manual, I can tell you right now that you've got some fabrication ahead of you. In addition to cutting a hole in the floor for the shifter, you'll need to find out how to get another pedal under the dash...
Looks like CrownVic.net has some good writeups. Here's one with some pictures: http://www.crownvic.net/ubbthreads/u...Number=1758640

If you have to ask the question in the way you did, you will need to find someone who has done this sort of specialized work.
Early questions will be: Rear transmission mount/crossmember. Driveshaft length and type. Type of clutch release mechanism to be used. Speedometer/odometer compatibility. Etc.

http://www.paulshp.com/ Paul did a manual trans swap into a Mercury Marauder that was awesome. Give him a call, he will be able to give you some insight.
