Default Does anyone know what this could be?

Hello I hope I put this in the right place on the forums this is my first post! So awhile back I was driving and I heard what sounded like somthing metal bouncing off the ground so I decided to stop and I found this in the middle of the street I’m not sure if it belongs to my car or not but I thought this would be a good place to start. My car still drives fine and there seems to be nothing wrong it’s just a little concerning I drive a 03 Mustang GT. So does anyone possibly know what this is or even belongs to my car.
Thanks,
Paul

Is there a year of vehicle more or less we're looking at? The two small tabs/fingers on it are for alignment purposes like to make certain the holes line up and the braket doesnt spin when you tighten it.

Depending on the overall size of the bracket in relation to your hand it's either Suspension related or drive train electronics related (throttle body, transmission bracket, etc).

Replaced an intake manifold on a family member's '03 Towncar it had a similar bracket bolted to the back of the cylinder head that I had to remove in order to get to the manifold bolts near cylinder # 8. Forget what the bracket was there for, it just supported some wiring or something, I opted to toss it rather than reinstall. Our cars (99-04) don't have that bracket though.

If you hang onto both the bracket and the car long enough you'll eventually figure out where it goes.

Thanks for the reply! Your response made the most sense I did replace my intake manifold and I do remember there being a bracket in the back and I’m pretty sure I didn’t install it back in either. Maybe I left it under the hood by mistake but you did say I wouldn’t have that bracket but who knows I’m gonna take a look when I get home from work.
Thanks again!!
