How to stop "automatic door locking of 2016 Mustang"?
I'll say it 1st! DUH!
I should know this..... but I how do you set a 2016 Mustang so it won't lock the doors automatically when you exist the car! I can't find the setting! I know...DUH! LOL! Thanx in advance for answers! |
I don't have my car with me so can't look at the screens to toggle through, but it should be in the "settings" options.
Now that I think about it, I don't think that my 2017 automatically locks the doors when I exit the car (or even when I "exist" the car). Maybe there isn't a setting for auto lock on exit because I don't remember seeing that on my car. There are other lock/unlock that I remember. I'll have to check it this weekend when I get home.

There is no setting to lock the doors automatically when exiting or existing the car. You have to press the top of the door handle or button on the remote.

There is no auto-lock on exit, but there is when driving.

I think you guys are right as it is not consistent, BUT on occasion my 2016 Mustang "locks itself" in my garage & I cannot get entry without my key fob. MAYBE... the door handle is sensing my hand when I close the door! Now I know it must be something like that!
Thanks for the responses!! |
It's possible that you are touching the pad on the handle when you close it. The pad on the top of the handle (has a couple of lines on it) will lock the door.

Never heard of the car locking itself automatically. Maybe there is actually some messed up with the keyfobs. I'd take it in and have it looked at by the dealership.
