I posted this in the suspension section of the forums a week ago, and didnt receive a single response. So Ill post it here.

been looking through the forums on options for suspension, and I havent found much more other than "Buy this brand because I have it and its the best" or "This is the most expensive racing suspension so you should get it". Im not looking for any of that. Here are my actual uses and plans for my 2015 50th anniversary package GT Premium.

Daily driver. That's pretty much it. I bought the car used, and it came with a AIRRAID CAI, and a Borla Stinger Type S 2.5" Catback exhaust. I dont know if it had the ECU reflashed or not. It did not come with the factory strut tower brace either so its not a track pack or whatever.

I owned a 2014 GT Prem with the brembo breaks and wheels and I lowered it with eibach springs only. at that time I should have went with shocks and struts too, but i figured id add them later. later tuned into trading the car for a newer one. So now, my concerns for handling are mostly Arizona freeway driving, and a little bit of curvy roads. no track, no autocross. I just want a more comfortable feel and better performance for if i ever need to have a highway battle with an R32 GTR Skyline (Again). So, Im thinking a street coil over kit. maybe KONI or Ford Performance. I dont know. Maybe a bushings kit? like a full energy suspension bushings kit?

Who here has done suspension mods and bushing kits? Whats a good quality street use daily coilover kit thats going to make a noticeable impact?

upgraded suspension parts. You're not racing it, tracking it, and so on, so
being a daily driver the stock suspension is fine. I did mine because the prices
were cheap enough, and the OEMs had 102,000 miles on the parts, so I replaced
then with better ones:

BMR Rear LCAs - $60.00
BMR Panahrd Bar Support Brace - $40.00
J&M Panhard Bar - $35.00
J&M Rear UCA - $40.00

Additional stuff:
Strut Brace - $60.00
OIl Catch - $25.00
Rear Shocks - $40.00

I am looking at an 05-09 1-piece drive shaft for $100.00, I'd have to drive to Ohio and get it. He said
it will work with V8 and V6, and has the flanges needed:

Retailers that sell them new say fitment is V6 and V8, but I do not want to drive 5 total hours for nothing, and
be stuck with a drive-shaft I can't use.

I see, so how about I reword it a little. I'd like a shorter ride height and a more firm stance when cornering through arizona canyons. But I'm not interested in a $3000 race suspension.

Well then here you go. IMO, the street Ford Racing suspension will provide the best overall ride you are looking for while lowering the car just a smidge. It is a complete bolt in with no need for spring compressors or special tools. Any tool can do it.

Guys - OP's 2015 Mustang is an S550 with independent rear suspension and a somewhat different strut arrangement up front. He's looking for S550 guidance, not a list of what works on our 2005 - 2014 S197. I've given him a few suggestions in his other thread.


OP - Mustangforums isn't nearly as busy as it once was, so new threads do tend to go unnoticed a lot longer than in years past. Maybe more so for threads on the more technical topics. I suspect you threw people off the track with mention of what you did (and didn't do) to your 2014, which of course was an S197.

I’d agree with this.. I have the Ford Racing suspension and am currently looking for an upgrade because I like to track my car. The ford racing suspension is a great a great sport performance feel but not sacrificing NVH.
