Subwoofer box ideas?
I just had a stereo installed and they put in a 10 inch subwoofer in a sealed box. The box is just in the corner of my trunk. I'm thinking about taking that one out and changing to a box that fits in the corner of the trunk. I'm looking at the Kicker CompR Mustang box with a 12" subwoofer in it. My question is has anyone done this box and how does it sound? I don't want to buy it, change it, and find out that I lose sound or volume and waste my time and money. I don't know the difference between 2 ohm, 4 ohm, sealed, ported, 10" vs. 12" and so on. I listen to mainly rock or metal music.

Why not just get the Shaker1000 trunk mounted system, or just the enclosure??
Its' made to be bolted right in... You would need a 4-channel amp for them. Each speaker has 2-voice coils. Or, mount single coil speakers in the enclosure.. It's constructed for the S197 Mustang, and the box is tuned accordingly. |
