Trunk Seal Replacement Seam

Hey guys! Just bought a used 2013 V6 Convertible. Very excited to join your ranks. So far it’s the most fun I’ve ever had driving.

So, I’m getting odd things repaired here and there. Recently received a new trunk seal and I noticed the dealership installed it with the seam right at the bottom near the trunk latch. Is this something that could eventually leak? It’s pretty tight but I’m worried about water pooling there and seeping inside.

Not sure if this is standard or not, I don’t remember there being a seam on the factory installed seal.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Dan

There is always a seam on factory trim seals, You just don't see it as readily because they usually have a bit of Butyl rubber or rtv in it/on it to hide any gap and further seal the seam.
Just pull up the seal a bit to separate the seam, put a dab of black RTV in there and re close the seam.
