Can I convert my 95 Gt (5.0) to manual 5 speed from 99??
Hey, I can get my hands on a manual 5 speed tranny out of a 99 (4.6). I have a 95 gt auto and looking to convert to manual trans. Will the manual from a 99 fit on in my 95? I think he said it is a tremec 45 or 245, but couldnt find anything on 245 and the 45 is for cobras I believe...
The only problem with it is 2nd gear is gone. If it does fit, would I be okay in spending 20 bucks for the tranny, then rebuilding it? Would I spend more doing it this way or just stick with trying to find a stock 5 speed tranny out of a junk yard or buying new? Not sure how much it would even cost to rebuild, but just wondering if it would fit first... Thanks guys

I have a 5.0. Here is a link to what he said he has. http://www.ttcautomotive.com/English/products/T-45.asp I just need to know if it will bolt up to a 5.0. he says it probaly should, but dont want to yank it out just to see, ya know. Thanks

if you have a 95 that will work if that what you are looking for... it all depends on what you are looking to spend. if you do go with a stick will you be looking to sell the auto tranny out of your car now? i may be interested!

your going to have to get all the petal assemblys, i have all the conversion diagrams and how to do it step by step if i can find it ill send you the link

I would probaly sell the auto tranny after the swap. It has 50000 miles on it.
So, I can use a 99 cobras 5 speed tranny on my 95 stang (which is currently auto).

yea, go to google.com and do a search for aode-5 speed swap.... thats how i got that detailed directions for it.. i decided against it ofr dragracing reasons.... but where are you located?
