Weird noise during cold start up's?

Hey guys, i have a 96gt. when it's cold and i start it up theirs somewhat of a metal sound. i really dont know how to describe it, sorry. but it's only during cold starts. if i go and drive and start it back up again they'res no problem. any idea what this could be? thanks in advance

it's when i start it, and right when it turns over, for about 2 seconds it makes a high pitch noise that sounds kinda like metal.

Really need to describe the sound better than metal.

Is it a rapping noise? Does it squeel? Tick? Knock?

the best way i can describe it would be, if you get a measuring tape(the metal ones), pull it out all the way ,and just let it go. it makes the noise of the tape retracting back into the holder (lmao sorry these descriptions suck)

anyway, just changed my oil, waiting for it to cool down again to see if it went away

was it doing this BEFORE your oil change?

Is anything different? For example, did the noise just start or has it been there for some time? Has it gotten any worse or stayed the same as when you first noticed it ? Do you notice any other symptoms, other than the noise?....any loss of power, poor idle, hesitation, etc?

I am wondering if it's as simple as the starter or maybe oil pump.

I know for sure that it's NOT your lifters because you don't have any LOL.

lol.

Well, I only purchased the car about a month ago. Up untill about a week or 2 ago it ran perfectly sound. When the weather got a little colder i believe that's when i started. This is all Before the oil change, as i just changed it yesterday. When i go out to school this morning we'll see if it went away

also, i dont think its getting worse, and their is no evidant loss of power or anything like that. just the strange noise during cold start up's

Did you try changing the blinker fluid? Or replacing the muffler bearing?
