RE: What does Stage I and Stage II turbo's mean?
every company is diffent basicaly a stage 2 should have a few more goodies on it a stage one might not have a innercooler or quite as big of a turbo while a stage two will be a upgraded kit.
but every company is diffent in what they do and sell some companys my have a very basic kit fora stage 1 while another company might have a real nice kit.

It has to do with cost and driveability.Stage 1 kits will be cheaper than stage 2 but will make less power. There usually isn't much difference between driveability of a stage 1 over a stage 2,but change from a stage 1 to a stage 3 and you'll see a big difference. It goes the same way with power and dollars spent. The stage 1 kits will also have the biggest HP gain ratio to dollars spent, the law of diminishing returns still reigns supreme.

ORIGINAL: Vash the Stampede
the names are so retarded then.. so wouldn't it be easyer and more specific to just say "Ya i upgraded to a T3 trim turbo and a core 2 intercooler"

but then agian it goes buy the company what tehy want ot call stage 1 2 or 3
if you look at a set of patriot heads and a set of injected racing heads the injected racing stage 1 is nearly the same a patroit stage 2.

I have no personal experience with Patriot but I have read on some of these forums that this company uses cheaper parts in their rebuilds than some of the other comanies.Regardless of this, one thing you can count on is "Good things are not cheap and cheap things are not good".

I have a similar question...
In the Jan '06 "Mustangs & Fast Fords" magazine there is an article about Roush's '05 Stage 2 stang and from what I can understand, at least for the Roush, Stage 1 is mostly cosmetic upgrades, Stage 2 is suspension/handling, and Stage 3 is performance upgrades. So is this the general "stage" model or is it different for each aspect of the car, i.e. turbo stage x, stage x body kit, etc. ?
