RE: in a pickle...need opinions
definately a no go. keep looking. you'll wind up spending over your limit to try and fix these things. the car does look nice inside but all the issues you stated.. definately isn't worth it.. you'll find a good buy soon.

I would have this mechanic look it over throughly, sometimes having a car from a woman driver is a bad thing. If you really like the car though I wouldn't pay more the $1500 for it! Wishin you luck!

There are too many great deals out there to settle for a deal like that. If it was one of the two in bad shape than it might be a decent deal at $1500. But paint, miles and run down engine is not a good way to start off unless your getting the car for free. Get onto Auto Trader and you'll pull 50 better deals than that in 2 seconds. Run from that "Money Pit"

Yeah, I have to agree. Even if you spend only $1500 to get it (which is doubtful), you're going to spend the rest of the $4000 just getting the car to run in decent shape. THEN, you can spend money on upgreades. Unless you're just looking for a project car, find something else.

^^ Exactally, I went through the same thing. I baught my 88 GT about 3 years ago and I attempted to fix it twice already (when I say attempt Im talking 2-3 thousand dollar attempts) to fix it. When I went and looked at it it had horrible interior, horrible paint, wiring was a complete mess, body work, etc. BUTTTT I thought that I could fix it and it would be over with. But when a car is treated like that the problems just never go away. I'm only keeping my car bc of sentimental value but Im also replacing EVERY part on the whole car. Its not like these cars are rare, take your time and pick up something that is actually worth it. You can find a much better deal.

Go to Kelly Blue Book and find out what it's worth. I think you'll find that it is worth way over the asking price. Ordinarily a '95 would be way more than $4000. I say if you can get it for $3000 go for it. You can fix it up slowly over time.
