Default Please help me w/ my cold air intake mod

I'm trying to change from the stock rubber cold air intake pipe into the aluminum pipe on my '99 V6 stang. I've installed everything except for the air filter which needs to be installed from underneath the fender, but I'm not sure how I am suppose to do that from the looks of it. Am I suppose to take off the front end (bumper & fender) in order to intall the air filter? Here is the website generic version of the installation manual http://www.mustangtuning.com/mustang...-gt-cobra.html. I thank you for all the help and your time.

no don't try to take the bumper off

get the car off the gound a little then crawl under it there shoud be enough room in fornt of the right front tire you should be able to access the filter tube form there just reach up and put the filter on.

I have a Mac cold air that i installed. I had a hard time with the filter also. I used a cordless screwdriver, flashlight and bent the black plastic guard with no damage to it under the front passenger side so i can get my arm into the fender. The powered screwdriver helped alot to tighten the clamp onto the filter and pipe. Good luck.

Another hint..metal bad(heat soak)..plastic or pvc is good. Best intakes are said to be Densecharger, K&N FIPK and JLT. -Shane

Air isnt in the intake long enough to get heated up by the intake

pulling air from the engine compartment is far worse than using a metal intake tube

The power from a CAI is mostly because it sucks more in. Also put a little vasoline on the filter it will slide right on. BE sure to wipe it dry after its on though.
