RE: Newbie Questions re Saleen vs GT
If we were talkin bout the C5......yea, i'd take it. I'd loved that body style, very sleek and sexy. I don't like the look of the C6's. I thought it'd grow on me but it hasn't. Just something about it looks cheap.....and I have had a chance to check one out up close. It's purely a cosmetic opinion, i know. But for 45K, looks count. I won't drive something I don't like to look at. So if someone offered me either 45K in cash or an 06 C6.......I'd take the cash, and my GT to the performance shop.

RE: Newbie Questions re Saleen vs GT
Thanks again to everyone for your comments/suggestions.
I'm not sure how we got a little off topic here. I know I cannot get a GT500 or a Z06 for $45K, and thus I am not looking for one those vehicles. My max that I can spend is $45K so I was hopefull to be able to get a 2005 or a 2006 SC281 or go with a modified GT.
I like the idea of the SC281 because it comes with a warranty (after all the modifications), and the fact that it is limited in numbers. As far as the GT goes, I think I could do a nice job of modding one but to add a supercharger, suspension, brakes etc. will void warranty, won't it? If I'm able to get over my fear of voiding warranty, the other question is finding a "good" tuning shop in the area who can do the add-on's. Anyone know a good place in the Chicagoland area?
Thanks
Hank
