horn won't work
I have a 64 coupe and am slowly fixing it up, but don't know much about mechanical stuff. The horn doesn't work and I am not sure why. The fuse looks good. I removed one of the horns and tried to make it blow with an 18V drill battery. It didn't. Does this mean the horn itself doesn't work, Or is my logic wrong all together. Where should I start looking for the problem.

RE: horn won't work
Just go get a couple of horns that are known to be good and work from there. The switches in the steering wheel go bad from corrosion from just sitting so they may be shot also.

RE: horn won't work
You should've probably tried to make it blow with just a 12v battery, because that's what it gets from the car. Try it and see if it works (drill battery might have been weak or something?) and if not, your horn's probably bad.

RE: horn won't work
Not sure if this is true fir your car, but... tha older carsI worked on the horn circut worked by grounding the horn. I other word there was an always hot wire, when you depress the horn switch it would complete the circut with a ground.
Maybe this helps... |
RE: horn won't work
take the horn off the steering wheel and see if the wires are connected.

RE: horn won't work
with it being such an old car,the horn will not work.i've had problems like that before with some of my old cars.problem solved, try rolling down your window and yelling out ha ha. no seriously it's either your horn is clogded up inside, your wireing or go buy a new horn.
