4x4's question

well i spent half an hour today trying to get into my garage with the mustang (had to stay on the driveway for a few days) and it just does not like ice. i start work this year so ive decided im gonna have to get a 4x4 at least for winter driving, possibly a daily driver too. now i know their not all built the same and i know not all of them have limited slip and such. which trucks handle the best in the winter (do i even need 4x4?) and how would i know if they come with limited slip differentials? im looking for something cost effective but reliable, so dont suggest a hummer or anything. thanks for the help!

4x4 s-10 blazer best bang for the buck. Even the older first gen styles. the 4.3L never dies :)
