Default Can a 350bhp FWD car hook on the street?

Do you guys think my friends car will be able to hook once he S/Cs it. Its an Alfa Romeo, hes using the eaton m90 S/C off the thunderbird, he wants 350 at the crank, his is 200 stock, do you think he'll be spinning too much or what?

with regular street tires its almost garenteed to be a mess, he might have luck with some DRs

he's planning on running on the streets with it lol. I'm gonna assume no DRs. maybe he'll have to tune it down

when ppl say street tires alot of them ARE referring to DR's, expetially when hes got some decent numbers there

I highly doubt he is getting DRs, especially for every day driving. He said he'll feather the accelerater till he gets off the line.

not necessarily. Depending on the car and whether it has LSD, he may even light em up after he's rolling.

just make sure the suspension see conciderable amounts of work done

new control arms,

new springs,

new shocks,

new struts,

some stabalizer bars,

DEFFINATLY new tires......

the list goes on

he just put in new rear struts, but thats only b/c they were squeeking. I think he's gonna be in for a surprise

I just left a grand prix with 280 ft/lbs of torque and it was very hard not to get a ton off smoke off the line. Others have done it with front wheel drive, it just takes a lot of good suspension.

He'll probably be fine once he gets off the line... until he shifts a gear at WOT while powershifting. Say bye bye to those tires real quick.
