I just have one plea to Ford about the Mustang

RE: I just have one plea to Ford about the Mustang
Mustangs are not crap in the snow. You are all just spoiled with driving these wimp front wheel drive vehicles, which by the way, weather has absolutely no bearing on why the auto industry went that route. It is not to make your life easier driving in the snow, it is purely dollars and cents as it is much cheaper and quicker to assemble a vehicle on the line when the engine and tranny dump in all at the same time.
First off, there is basically no such thing as an "all season" (M+S) winter tire. That is industry crap. Rain and light slush, yes, snow...NO. Snow requires "snow" tires. If you are serious about driving your Mustang in the winter months, go to a place like Tire Rack, www.tirerack.com, and purchase one of their many reasonably priced winter tire/wheel packages that arrive at your house mounted and balanced, ready to install on your car. This will also save your custom summer wheel/tire combo from exposure to salt and other winter nasties. Other than that, a full tank of gas when a storm is promised and a 50 pound bag of kitty liter in the trunk is all you need to be a happy winter camper. After all, all Mustangs (GT's & Cobras) have limited-slip rearends (posi-traction) to help you grip the road when your rear tires starts to slip. They alternate right and left until you gain control and straighten out. The new '05 & '06's up that anti by adding traction control. What the heck else do you need?! I suggest you also look into driving lessons if you still can not drive in the snow. Don't forget, NO abrupt (jerky) lane changes, tailgating or hard stopping in snow. This does NOT work! All driving controls must be must be applied and used in an early, slow, gradual fashion to retain proper foul weather control. AND....it is intensely more fun to donut in fresh snow with a rear wheel drive vehicle in a virgin parking lot!
