I would sell the mustang and buy a new Civic. Then I could spend the whole $20K on stickers and spoilers and be king of the rice!

The first thing to do is give $10k to your new best friend *me* to spend on mods for his mustang.

I wish I had more money than sense.

Just take it to West Coast Customs. They're used to hooking up people who have absolutely no personal identity and can't make their own decisions.

ORIGINAL: bretspiers

I have 20k to spend on my 06 gt mustang. what should I start with, and who should I have do the work? or should I waite for the warrenty to run out?
If you're serious, then this is an easy one....

All forged internals with a 302 stroker kit, KB s/c with 20 psi, 13" 4 piston brakes up front, 15x10 bogarts in rear, 15x3 up front, front swaybar delete, 30 or 31 spline, aluminum driveshaft w/ safety loop, Steeda race suspension up front, full metco race suspension in rear, Keep the stock rear end cause it's a great one (the 28 spline is the weak link) and subframe the heck out of it, high performance clutch, 4.10 gears, 3" l/t headers on H-pipe with borlas, Diablo tune and mafia adapter, Eaton Posi, -8 fuel lines, fuel rails, KB boost-a-pump, spark booster, ice box, water pump, nice heat exchanger, roll cage, autolite gauges, pro 5.0 shifter, engine girdle, and.... wait a minute... THIS IS MY CAR!!!!

I'll do all that for you for 20K....

I would have to agree on the investment recommendations. $20K in mods on a Mustang is NOT an investment. You will not get it back, unless you plan on taking it to Barrett/Jackson in 100 pointer condition in the year 2045 And I'm not knockin Chevy Killer by saying that.

Invest $5K or so in a SC and have more than enough power for the average human being - I mean seriously, 400-450 hp in a Pony is going to be more than enough to kick the pants off of just about anything that pulls up next to you on any given day. So what if you come against a Ferrari, Lambo, or souped up Vette - that will happen like once or twice compared to all the other cars you could beat.

Invest while your young and while you can

Now if you are rich beyond believe and the 20K is just a drop in the bucket - then by all means listen to Chevy Killer

If no one else will, I am going to throw the BS flag on this one.[sm=bs.gif] Get real, if you have a $20k reserve to dump on a car that can be bought for $25k then it stands to reason that you are not savvy enough to have earned that much in the first place.

I tend to agree...

I also think chances are someone who can just buy a $25k car for cash, and then still have another $20k cash to just throw at it...would have purchased a more expensive car in the first place. I mean, don't get me wrong I looove the Mustang GT...but if I could throw around $45k like chump change I'd purchase something else.
