I would have to agree on the investment recommendations. $20K in mods on a Mustang is NOT an investment. You will not get it back, unless you plan on taking it to Barrett/Jackson in 100 pointer condition in the year 2045 And I'm not knockin Chevy Killer by saying that.

Invest $5K or so in a SC and have more than enough power for the average human being - I mean seriously, 400-450 hp in a Pony is going to be more than enough to kick the pants off of just about anything that pulls up next to you on any given day. So what if you come against a Ferrari, Lambo, or souped up Vette - that will happen like once or twice compared to all the other cars you could beat.

Invest while your young and while you can

Now if you are rich beyond believe and the 20K is just a drop in the bucket - then by all means listen to Chevy Killer
I was obviously joking around and no offense taken... I don't think this is serious either. I'm fully aware my car isn't worth much more than stock as is but I also don't pay for labor and parts mark-up so my situation is also a little different than your average joe. I have always had a mission to make my stang a 10 sec street rod knowing full well from the gate exactly how much money it was going to take. If I was justing looking for speed and had 45K to start with - I would certainly have put 35K down on a Z06 and put the other 10K on a s/c , tires, clutch, and gears and called it a day.... [8D]

this is a great thread. chevy i agree it's a BS thread and guys just because someone buys a mustang and wants to sink $20k of monopoly money in it don't try to talk him out of it.lol. i'm sure if he wanted to go 200mph he would have bought a used ferrari or something. he has a vision
if i just wanted to go fast i would have kept my dragster or roadster. i wanted a 05-up mustang to race and to play with. i have a goal and a plan that i'm sticking to. if you told someone you were going to buy a $30k car and then start tearing it apart and dumping thousands of $ in it they would have said why don't you just get a _________. it's probably cause we have either already had that or driven it and it just wasn't what we wanted. i catch lots of crap from people asking "why didn't you just buy a body in white if you are going to change everything on the car?" i just say this is what i wanted. i have the knowledge, ability and financial means to do this otherwise i'd be collecting stamps.
i sure hope this guy replies soon.

If I were going to spend 20 large on my car the first thing I would replace is the head unit. Then all the motor and suspention work.

What is it with all the noobs that come in here, ask serious (or not so serious) questions and then never post again [&:] There's one in the Saleen/Roush section right now too.

I think I'm going to start a monopoly money thread of my own and see what guitars you all think I should by with my $20K to burn [8D]

Man its like why spend all that money in mods when you can buy the Shelby or Saleen and have a warranty.
