I never liked the STS kits. There is no advantage over more traditional turbo setups other than lower engine bay temperatures, which strategic venting could fix just as easily. Also, like blk05 mentioned, the inlet and the turbo itself are susceptible to water. I don't think the turbine housing would respond well after being run full tilt and then doused in water. Plus, the exhaust gasses are going to lose A LOT of energy along the length of pipe, conversely, the charge air is gonna gain a lot of energy from riding inches off 180deg+ asphalt.

I don't doubt the system would make lots of power, but a traditional setup with the same turbos would run better.

ORIGINAL: Claytone

Yeah its Powerhouses, looks awesome, there car ran a 10.xx with it.
It's not a twin but yes it's a very nice setup. In fact, I'm getting it installed in the next few weeks as well as new sb w/ forged internals. Mike's doing the install, tune & engine swap and Fox Lake is doing the sb & heads.

stupid question here, wouldn't those air filters suck in water being so low to the ground when it rains hard? Wouln't that cause problems with the turbos? Not sure if the water might make it up to the engine eventually. It does rain pretty hard out here sometimes, enough to close some roads and parkways.

As far as the rain/air filter concern: I wouldn't be concerned. I ride bikes as well and mine is a "big block" of bikes and has an open filter element. I've ridden through a downpour before and it never so much as burped. The oils on the filter prevent water from getting through. I suppose if you let the filter go you might have a prob, but if you take care of your car at all, this won't be a problem.
