RE: Anyone runnen on slicks with a 5speed??
I have 4.10's and currently use a 26 1/2 x 11 - 17 MT ET streets and have no problems at all. I leave the line at 5100 rpm and my average 60' is 1.55 and I have been in the 1.4's many times. I use these with a 17X10 rim. The 31 spline axles we have in these things are one of the strongest and best features the new stangs have IMO and can easily handle upwards of 650+ hp. The suspension is weak and needs to be upgraded. I have broken a steeda race set-up suspension twice and now have the metco full race suspension in the rear and have no problems at all and keep straight from start to finish.
For true slicks, the best set-up is what I am gong with and what Spyder already has - bogart 15X10 for rear and 15X4 for front. The rear requires a small adapter that comes with the bogarts and longer lugs which also comes with the set for $1600 (all four) from JPC racing. With these rims, you can run a 28" tall slick in the back for optimal performance. If you're not pushng over 500 rwhp, then I think the slicks are overkill and you'll be fine with the MT ET streets.
EDIT - there have been a lot of talk over tire pressure in the MT ET Streets and I can assure you from lots of experience the best pressure is 11.5 - 12.5 with a good (12+ sec) burnout to heatr them back up to around 13 psi by the time you hit the light. Any more or less and you will add 2/10's to your 60'

Call summit - tell them you have an 05/06 mustang and want to get MT ET streets 26 1/2 x 11 - 17 and you need a set of rims. They only have one brand in stock that fit and they are reasonable. All the other ones have to be custom ordered. PM me if you need more info.

Hoosier makes a 28 inch tall DOT and Full Slick for 16 inch rims that the Lightning guys love to run. Any 16" rim will clear the brakes and run a full 28" slick!
