anyone else been hit from the side?
today i was driving out of a parking lot at about 3 mph and a guy back up and didnt see me he too was going prob 3 mph and hit my driver side from the door right to the rear wheel, i must say for not going fast at all he did a **** ton of damage.. im just wondering has anyone been hit from the side at faster speeds? maybe i was unlucky but i wouldnt want to be in this car and get hit side on.. ill see if i can get a picture up of it soon, my door wont even open anymore its so crunched in heh

I wasn't hit from the side but I was rear ended at about 1 or 2 mph, just barely tapped, and it broke all the support brackets for the bumper. Three days in the body shop and a new bumper and it's as good as new. Sure am glad he wasn't going 5 mph. Oh I forgot, I had owned the car for 6 hours.

These cars are designed to crumple in on the skin and bumpers, but the cabin is made much more rigid than ever before. The reason is that the crumpling affect allows the "expendable" body panels to absorb most of the energy from any impact, and keep less energy from ever reaching the passengers.

It actually did well in crash tests. 5 stars up front, 4 without bags on the side. Get the side bags everyone. 300 bucks could save your life. It's disheartening to see how few people are getting this option. It shouldn't even be an option. Especially with SUV's hittling a low riding car like the Mustang on the side. And in a few years they'll be pretty much standard. You prolly don't want your car to be missing this soon to be standard feature when re-sale time comes around.

never been hit in my MUSTANG ,but t-boned in a taurus and rear enede in my f-150 5g damage to the 150 ,totaled the taurus happy i was in a ford on both accounts NO personal injury
