Carmax sucks. At least the one I went to. They were going to me thousands less then the car was worth Kelly Blue Book. I had nothing but problems with my 2000 vert. Leaked and the top frayed so much after about 6 months. I know the feeling you are going through but don't take another hit. They are just raping you. You shuold try and sell it on your own (you will get more money) and then buy back your other one if you want. You shuold seel it for 27-28K on your own. Just have to wait.

You guys got real issues about your manhood...

I'm gonna have to agree with Menace, at least the first part. Convertibles are cool, if you're a chick.

"Real men don't drive convertibles."

i mean, uhm...........no, you do..............beeeeeeeeyotch.

My advice is keep the 06. Convertibles suck.
05s and 06s suck, drive by wire, verts have crappy lines, no digital readout, no trunk release, do i go on?

I agree with getting the SN-95 back, ive got a vert and i dont know what i love it. preformance isnt much slower, but there is a bit more body flex

Just went to Cmax and got a 7 day price of $23,500. This is for a 2006 GT Premium Coupe Blk/Blk 5-spd with 700 miles! Bought new 1 month ago! I know i must take a hit but this is ridiculous. i would have expected at least 24,500.

It's going on autotrader.com for 26,500. I live in miami.

Thanks for all the advice and comments. Great forum and members.

Regards

riiiiiight and stock for stock the 05/06 would run circles around you, although at the finish you could brag about your trunk release, lol.

Not only that, but the 05/06 Verts have a chassis that is 5 times stiffer than even the sn95 coupes and only weigh 150 lbs more than the 05/06 coupes. That said, I still like the the sn95's (I just love Stangs!) For me it came down to an '04 Cobra or ordering my '06 GT. I guess the thought of a NEW car won me over. Still get chills whenever I think about the HP of the Cobras.[sm=burnout.gif]

I have an 06 Gt Vert and i dont know what the hell you are mean by trunk release... However, yes a 2003+ Cobra is nice BUT, the look of the 05 is just sick over the old ones. I had an 00 GT vert till i traded it in for me 06. Both great cars dont get me wrong but to go BACK to your old one is just stupid. Not worth taing a hit JUST to have a vert (which seems to be the only reason you want to trade down). If you can take a hit on the money you are loosing, you should have been able to get a vertin the first place. Part of me wants to call this thread bullsh*t for that reason. You are loosing who knows how many thousands but it would have only been another 1.5-2k more over the coupe if you wanted a vert. You will be loosing more buying back your old car. Hence the reason i think this is fake.

Man, I REALLY miss my Yugo. It outperformed my stang, cornered on two wheels and the rear window defrost kept my hands warm when I pushed it. Man, I hope they haven't sold it to a collector yet. [sm=joke.gif]

As for the trunk release, if you are refering to an interior release, I have one. It is hanging on the key ring. I push the little blue button on my remote fob and "bing", the trunk opens! Oddly enough the sales manager told me no new mustang had this feature so I pushed the button, the trunk opened and his jaw dropped![sm=jawdrop.gif]

Listen dude, you can't be serious about getting the old one back and taking a major loss![sm=roll.gif]
