Default couple wheel tire size questions

does anyone think 18" wheels will look to small on an 05???

im thinking of getting the old style saleen replicas ( 5 star) for my
gt but they only come in 18x9 .... whats a good set up for them front an rear sizes i want really wide in the back but i want it to be functionable ,.. handle better and take off better then it does now.

you think 295 in the rear is too wide????

how about 295 on a 9" wheel.. will it look funny?

18's too small? I hope not.......cuz I hope to upgrade to 18's in the future. I don't think we yet live in a world where anything under 20's doesn't look right. So go ahead man, those 18's will look just right on an 05 IMO.

18" too small??? what??? we had 14" and 15" on this same size car in late 60s and 70; now we have 17" minimum; IMO going from 14, 15 to 17" on a retro design is a nice jump; 18's fine IMO; beyond that; it ain't retro but hey everyone does their thing, that's part of the beauty and fun behind this car.

18's here with 275/40's all the way around. Rear is lowered 3/4's of an inch.

18" is definitely not too small. I think it is the perfect size for the car. I'm going for a little different look so I went with 20s but I really think 18s are a very good size leaving a good amount of side wall on the tire.

Personally I think 295 is too wide for a 9" wheel. That is about 11.6" wide tire. I think a 10" wheel would be much better. If you are limited to the 9" wheel, I would stick with a 275 although I'm sure there are others that would disagree and say go for it.

295 is definitely not too wide though. Many people are running them even on lowered cars with no problems. I've read about some that are running 305 and even as much as 315. -Joe

Here're 18's on my '06. I think they look great, but the suspension is a little high. You could fix it a bit with higher profile tires, but I think I'll lower it a bit. I've got 255's all around. They go pretty much straight up off the wheel, so 295 might be a little bulbous, but if that's the look you're going for, more power to ya.
