That's the way you do it. One thing to consider--I've heard that the door panels on Mustangs with the base stereo system do not have the provisions for the 8" subs. Does anyone know if this is true or not? I do know that the subs do not bolt up to the metal of the inner door--the enclosures for them are part of the actual door panel. (BTW, this is not the case with the door speaker--they bolt to the metal, not the panel.) So if you're not getting that panel, you're in for some custom enclosure work, and I don't think any aftermarket company has come out with a "pod" or anything for this. If all that's the case, then it's one more reason to go with the Shaker500, rip out what you're not happy with, and then once again--listen to Joe!
