Thin spokes can work on our cars. Take a look at these on the Roush, they flow pretty well IMO.:

Hey Vidgomd: Check out www.tirerack.com once there select make, year, then click on wheels. Then scroll down to mustang gt-coupe. look on left side of web page almost on top and you can also choose the color of your car. Once your're there you can scroll through the rimsthey sell in various sizes to see what they look like on your car. I've got a friend who ordered a wheel/tire package from them and was happy with their service/knowledge. Hope this helps.

Just my opinion, but I think 20" wheels look pretty stupid. I mean, it makes me think of a covered wagon. Just my opinion. I wouldnt go above 18. Plus, your take-off traction starts to suffer with 20's. But, hey, to each his own.

I agree. Vidgomd I think you would do well to go with 18's on those rims. Trust me, it'll look badass. I'm not a fan of 20's unless you've done a bodykit that broadens the side profile of your car. If you have, then 20's will compliment the car nicely. If you're sticking with the cars natural lines, then don't go over 18. Plus, rubber for 18's will be cheaper than for 20's and you won't suffer as much of an unforgiving ride.

P.S. the rims on that Roush pic I posted above are 18's........just for your own reference. IMO, you won't be disappointed with 18's.

What tire size can we get away with on a 18x9 or 18x9.5 rim without rubbing? I wouldn't mind dropping the height with slightly shorter sidewalls, but I just wonder if you can fit a 270 on the front or if you need to limit it to around 255? (with respective 35-45 sidewall height as well)

I am not a fan of 20's and the worst part is you actually lose a little bit off your start. So 20"s definately aren't for me, but for others its different. Everyone gets to do what THEY like and thats the best part.

Do u really think that by putting 20's on a stang that your gonna lose anything off the start that would in any way be noticable......maybe a fraction of a second at the drag strip, but then again if your serious about the drag strip your not gonna be running 18's either. The entire wheel diameter is not going to change much as u have lower profile tires on 20's any minimal change in traction off the start you'll gain in traction in the corners with 20's.......And yes I do like those smoothie's.

hey most people with 05's put these wheels on as 20"ers i do not plan on doing that so with such a deep lip 3 1/2 you guys think these will look puny on an 05?
I believe some of you are losing sight of his original request. He wants to do those spoked rims in 18's and wanted to know if they would look right on the car. He also stated he was not looking at doing anything as big as 20's. So, the answer to your question Vid, is yes...........those rims will look perfectly fine and hot in 18's on your car.
