Default C&L intake without tune

I drove my Mustang today with intake installed, but don't have the tune yet. I thought it ran crappy and it threw an engine check light. I really hope it runs ALOT better once I get the C&L performance tune downloaded. Anyone else experience the same thing? I've read where it runs lean, but not lean enough to damage your engine.

its complete crap without the tune.. it may actually cause you to lose power vs stock

Yes I did have the same results. But I but an immeadiate tune on it with my SCT 2, Huge difference. I then took it to where I bought my tuner and did a dyno tune, I gained 27 HP plus 32FPT, I would get it tuned asap. You will enjoy the power, do a tune with 93 OCTANE and you will really see the CAI do it's work. Total gains if you get a good tuner that knows what he is doing some where aroung 45 HP with the CAI and the 93 OCTANE tune. Hope this helps!!!!

WoW! Good thing I put 93 octane in it! lol Thanks for the words of encouragement. I was bumming the way it was running. Can't wait to get my tune e-mailed to me!

The C&L has a bigger MAF (83mm I think) that has to be compensated for. It will run like S*** until then.

I got the tune file e-mailed to me from C&L. After screwing around, because it wouldn't take I called them back. They or diablosport never told me you had to export your original stock tune to a directory in your computer. Then put the new tune in the same directory. Then you can load it into your predator. Anyway, after all this hassle I got it tuned. MY GOD WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I'm VERY happy with it! I thought it ran great stock, but with the intake, UDP's, and performance tune set at 93 octane, this thing really moves!
