I use http://www.stonersolutions.com/ their trim cleaner product works great on everything plastic, also works good cleaning plastic stuff under the hood!

I carry one of those compressed air cans, for cleaning the computer keyboard, and keep a microfiber towell in the console. Microfiber rocks! You might try some of the other armour all products, such as the leather cleaner. Might be milder on the dash.
Good call on the Microfiber! It does a great job and is very gentle.
