BOOOM!![sm=WTFsgign.gif] the sound of your connecting rod exiting the engine[:@]
from what everyone has been saying all over the forum. When you pass aprox. 425 hp you have to get a forged bottom end. The stock motor cann't take it. So you may want to back off the boost or take it real easy.

STILL, those are very impressive numbers[sm=gears.gif]

While impressive for the day and on the dyno, I guarantee/bet that with that continued boost (anything greater then 8psi) say goodbye to the engine soon and your investment in doing something Ford has already done in its development testing phase before release of these engines to the public and all upgrades/scab ons considered.

Ford has done testing with Whipple in particular and while I would feel safer with 8# of boost, if you talk to whipple directly they will tell you the car will be fine even with 10# of boost, and considering Ford will be selling these kits directly thru Ford racing parts i doubt they are too concerned about their kits blowing an engine provided you have a properly tuned car. which good builders like KB, whipple, JDM do.
Like i said, I like 8# myself but there are plenty of boosted stangs out there in excess of +/- 450 rwhp and doing fine when they are set-up right and with a good tune. now if you want to build your motor on top of that ...fine, but i hope you are going to put atleast 600rwhp on that puppy.

The bottom end may not be forged but some have pushed it over 500 horse for some time without a problem. (Chevykiller for one)
I don't think your motor will disintagrate at 425 hP automatically or all these supercharger companies could not sell a product for this engine.
If supercharging just start a shortblock slush fund! I am ready for my rebuild, even though my car only has 100 miles on it.

If you are gonna supercharge your car, you have to be willing to accept a blown engine. Anyone who thinks they can supercharge a car and expect to get 100k miles without problems is naive.
